We’re thrilled to share major updates on our indie game projects, Empire Fable and Rogue Raider. Built in the open-source powerhouse Godot Engine, these games combine 2.5D and 3D mechanics with deep, immersive storytelling and a free-to-play experience.
🧭 Enter the World of Empire Fable
At the heart of our development journey is Empire Fable, an evolving fantasy universe. Designed as a free-to-play web game, Empire Fable draws inspiration from Spelljammer, Rogue Trader, and classic RPG worldbuilding. This is not just a fantasy game—it’s a multiverse.
We’ve leaned into procedural generation, dynamic narrative arcs, and an ever-changing world with fluid physics. Catch our 3D tech demo with Godot particle effects to see how we’re experimenting with Godot’s particle nodes and fluid simulation for spell effects.
🧨 Meet Rogue Raider: Action Meets Atmosphere
The breakout title in the Empire Fable series is Rogue Raider—a 2.5D / 3D action game set in the chaos-ridden Atoll Systems. Built in Godot, the game features verticality, space skiffs, zero-gravity gunfights, and deep bounty hunter mechanics. Think Rogue Trader, but with more plasma swords and spelltech grenades.
Watch our latest webisode: The Justicar Approaches the Chaos Atoll, where we highlight the gritty, bounty-driven lore that frames the gameplay loop.
🎮 Art & Assets: Building With Style
We’ve sourced character sprites from indie creators like Techlanders and Caera, who bring expressive, pixel-rich aesthetics that shine in both 2.5D and 3D environments. World maps and planetary backdrops are designed using Inkarnate, giving each zone that handcrafted, illustrated feel you might expect from a spelljammer-inspired universe.
Every biome, city, and skiff deck is tuned to the player experience—an organic fusion of old-school tactics and modern 3D rendering.
🛠️ Built in Godot: Why It Matters
We chose Godot not only for its open-source nature but also its powerful 3D and 2D hybrid capabilities. The engine’s flexibility allows us to toggle between 2.5D exploration segments and full 3D space combat, all while remaining fully playable in the browser.
Here’s a closer look at the Empire Fable Rogue Raider 3D/2.5D hybrid gameplay, showcasing how we handle layered environments and lighting without bloated download sizes.
🔥 Free to Play, Forever
We’re firm believers in keeping our games accessible. That’s why both Empire Fable and Rogue Raider are being developed as free-to-play web games. No installs. No hidden costs. Just click and play.
You can try the demo of Rogue Raider on Itch.io right now. We’d love your feedback—whether it’s bug reports, gameplay suggestions, or lore questions.
